Judicial academy trains SBP Adjudicating Officers

ISLAMABAD - Director General, Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) Moazzam Hayat has said that an adjudicating officer enjoys the powers of a court, hence, he should behave like a judge. Hayat expressed these views in a certificate awarding concluding ceremony held here under the auspices of FJA at one-week training of adjudicating officers of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). He said that the adjudicating officers did not have a separate cadre and they could be transferred to any other department of the central bank, adding that in his view this was negation of the constitutional guarantee of independence. Eulogizing the services of present Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar for modernisation of judiciary, Moazzam Hayat said that there was a need to improve the service conditions of both the judges and of the adjudicating officers to attract better talent, adding that Chief Justice of Pakistan was doing his best to attract better talent. Pinpointing towards the permission granted by the Chief Justice for training for adjudicating officers, he said this manifests his profound interest for human resource development and intellectuality of judges and those, who are related to the administration of judiciary. Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director, Banking Services Corporation, Kamran Shehzad, said the relevant technical knowledge and training imparted to central bank trainees would go a long way to improve work standards and taking up legal issues professionally. "Holding of this programme at this august Academy is testimony to our unabated devotion towards imparting functional training", Shehzad concluded. At the end 10 adjudicating officers were given away certificates.
