Rawalpindi - Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, senior superintendent of police/chief traffic officer (CTO), on Monday suspended two traffic wardens on charges of showing negligence during duty hours. According to details, Janbaz paid a surprise visit to city areas to check traffic arrangements and staff. The CTO spotted two the traffic wardens Asim and Usman sitting in an official car and having chitchat with each other instead of controlling traffic flow at Qasim Chowk Market. On this, the CTO placed the two traffic wardens under suspension. Janbaz while talking to media persons said that no negligent and inefficient warden would be spared in police department.
He said that traffic police were meant to control traffic flow and to deal politely with the citizens even if someone violated the traffic rules and regulations. He directed all the field officers and wardens to remain vigilant during duty hours or else strict action would be taken against them.
