Intel official kidnapped in Islamabad

A former high-ranking officer of a spy agency was kidnapped and his driver shot dead in the federal capital Thursday morning.
According to police sources, the abduction was carried out from Islamabad’s DHA, Phase-II, where Pak Army’s ex-officer Brigadier (Retd.) Tahir Masud along with driver, had hardly driven out of his residence at 8am, when four miscreants, riding a white car, intercepted him at a little distance from his residence.
Driver Muhammed Hussain tried to resist their kidnapping attempt and was critically injured by kidnappers with a gunshot. He was rushed to the hospital but he succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital.
According to sources, Tahir Masud had remained associated with a sensitive agency at senior position.
Receiving the report of the incident, law-enforcers including policemen arrived on the spot and began lookout for the miscreants by erecting the pickets around the area.
