Nisar orders arrest of stenographer, others for issuing fake NOCs

ISLAMABAD  - The ministry of interior has ordered to arrest some of its officials for their alleged involvement in issuance of fake no objection certificates (NoCs) to the people for conversion of their normal vehicles into bulletproof ones.
A senior official of the ministry said that a Karachi-based company Omar Jibran Engineering Company, a retrofitting company, was involved in the fraud, which in connivance with a stenographer of the ministry managed to get fake NOCs.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to arrest the stenographer of the ministry of interior immediately. The minister has also ordered that all the officials who were part of the official procedure to issue NOCs in this connection should be probed.
Under the government procedure, any person who wants to convert his normal vehicle into bulletproof has to get a mandatory NOC from the ministry of interior.
According to official sources, Omar Jibran Engineering Industries Ltd, involved in the business to convert normal vehicles into bulletproof vehicles, used to ask its customers that it would manage to get NOCs in their name from the interior ministry. Some employees of the ministry were in contact with a stenographer of the ministry who provided them fake NOCs.
The FIA has already arrested general manager (finance) and admin officer of Omar Jibran Engineering Industries Ltd who were allegedly involved in the fraud.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar while taking notice of the issue of releasing of some culprits from Central Jail Karachi in 2010 on fake letters of interior ministry has ordered to start probe against all such officials of the ministry. The culprits were also convicted in UK. A section officer of the ministry is already under the custody of FIA and the agency is probing the officials of Central Jail Karachi.
