RAWALPINDI-Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench Thursday issued notice to Regional Police Officer (RPO) and other respondents for not carrying out proper investigation into a case of abduction registered on July 25, 2007. LHC Justice Tariq Shamim directed the respondents to submit their reply and adjourn the hearing till next Monday. According to details, the petitioners Saiqa Majeed and Tahir Majeed moved the court through their counsel Saeed Yousaf Khan and made Regional Police Officer, City Police Officer, SDPO, SHO PS RA Bazaar, SHO PS Saddar Beruni and nine others as respondents. They stated in their petition that their father Abdul Majeed was abducted by Ghulam Fareed, Amir Javed, Basharat Hussain and others with the help of Ghulam Sughra and the FIR of the incident was registered with the PS R A Bazaar on July 25, 2007 under section 365 PPC. Petitioners maintained that abduction was the outcome of greed by the real uncle Ghulam Fareed and real aunt Ghulam Sughra who were interested in the properties of their father. They alleged that the local police had joined hands with the accused party and did not arrest the nominated accused with malafide intention and for ulterior motives. They further told that they were always worried about their father but the local police did not investigate properly and in a sudden fight, two nominated accused Ghulam Fareed and Amir Javed died and in that case, Akmal Zia brother-in-law of the petitioners was allegedly nominated by the complainant. The respondents No 1 to 7 in their personal different categories are not investigating the matter in their true prospective, specially in the light of order dated December 3, 2008 as the respondents No 8 to 11 along with the two deceased nominated accused are the actual culprits in respect of abduction of their father, they maintained. The petitioners further added that police were not conducting the investigations properly. They prayed that the court might direct the police to investigate the matter from respondent No 8 to 11 properly and grant them justice.
