CDA chief for abolishing project management office

ISLAMABAD - Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Syed Tahir Shahbaz, has directed for abolishing Project Management Office (PMO) Directorate of CDA with immediate effect.
All the projects of PMO and its entire officers and officials will be adjusted in relevant formations of the authority.  These directions were issued in a meeting presided over by the chairman here at CDA headquarters. All Members of the CDA Board and concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
To improve human resource policy, the Chairman CDA also ordered for complete audit of Human Resource Directorate by the reputed audit firm of the country. Purpose of the entire audit would seek help to chalk out a comprehensive policy on human resource. To stop misuse of CDA vehicles, the chairman CDA has also directed the concerned formations of the authority to restructure policy for better use of vehicles on the pool of CDA.
Member Administration Munir Ahmad Chaudhry apprised the chairman CDA that the present administration at the time of charge assumption had principally decided to abolish PMO, however; the decision was delayed because of the several matters were under discussion with the Judicial Commission constituted on the directions of Islamabad High Court (IHC). He further apprised the Chairman CDA that PMO was created for construction of mega projects in the past; however, PMO has failed to complete work on 21 projects. He said that PMO has lost its worth in CDA. He said that it is the best decision to abolish PMO and the projects with PMO should be handed over to relevant formations of the authority.
