RAWALPINDI - Police Tuesday arrested four Tigers (staffers) of Mohafiz Force and three other accused for their alleged involvement in dacoity incident near Food Street on Stadium Road. New Town Police arrested the accused on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan who took stern action against the police staffers for their alleged role in criminal activity. The arrested persons are members of the Mohafiz Force identified as constable Sammar Iqbal, constable Khurram Ilyas, constable Raees Aslam and constable Khan Sultan. The other three accused involved in this dacoity case are Zubair Ahmed, resident of I-10 Islamabad, Adeel Akhtar Butt, resident Dhok Pracha and Raja Mohasin Ali, resident of Angatpura. As per details, complainant Ali Faraz informed the City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Rao Muhammad Iqbal that he along with his four friends were going to their homes from Double Road after having their dinner from Food Street. "Suddenly, these accused four of them in police uniform and other in plain clothes halted their vehicle and took them out of it," he alleged. They accused started thrashing us and also restored to aerial firing to frighten us, he alleged. Then, the police staffers took them to Police Station New Town and took Rs 38,000 and two cell phones from them. The complainant added that the police staffers also asked them to manage more money then he had to make a call at home and brought Rs 80,000. After receiving the money, they allowed us to go home, they added. On this, CPO Rao Muhammad Iqbal directed the New Town police to take immediate action against the accused involved in the criminal incident. Meanwhile, the CPO also terminated three police officials after proving allegations against them in an inquiry report. Police registered a case of torturing a citizen Imran against ASI Qazi Arshad Naveed, Constable Sajjad Ahmed and Tariq Hanif with the Police Station Banni.
