PSB reschedules Inter-Provincial Games

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has rescheduled the Inter-Provincial Under-14 Boys events that will be held in April 7 to 9 next year 2009 instead of December 25 to 29 this year 2008 at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. According to a spokesman for PSB Under-16 girls competitions will be organised according to schedule at the same venue. Athletics, judo, karate, taekwondo, table tennis and wushu are the parts of teenagers' competitions. The under-16 youth girls tournaments will be as per programme from January 16 to 20 at Islamabad. Teams from Sindh, Punjab, North West Frontier Province (NWFP), Balochistan, Northern Areas, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Islamabad and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Sports Board will participate in both boys and girls competitions for top honours. A committee of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) will conduct the age scrutiny process on the opening day of the tournaments. It aimed to provide a healthy competition at grass-root level to the youth of the nation. The Inter-Provincial Youth tournaments of the Pakistan Sports Board are regularly organized in rotation basis in various provinces including AJK under the aegis of respective boards. Different tournaments in FATA and Northern Areas are also be held to ensure best possible participation for spotting out the talent out of these regions.
