Islamabad - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has strictly directed its 14 staffers to reply at the earliest to the show cause notices the authority had served on them, seeking explanation of the circumstances and evidence which helped them get two to three up-gradations within a short period of time.
According to the Capital Development Authority, some of its workers being aggrieved by two to three up-gradations of whom they believed were blue-eyed of the then management had filed cases in National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) for grant of the same pay scale to them.
The case was adjudicated by the National Industrial Relations Commission and it directed the CDA to hold inquiry against the said indiscrimination.
The top management of the CDA in light of the National Industrial Relations Commission directions formed a scrutiny committee to identify out-of-turn promotions cases.
The committee after the scrutiny identified cases of the same nature and issued show cause notices to 92 individuals to explain the circumstances and evidence that led to their unusual promotions. Seventy-eight officials of the Capital Development Authority submitted their replies to the secretariat while 14 failed to submit their replies within the stipulated time. “These individuals failed to respond to the show cause notices within stipulated period,” said a notice sent to them. They are directed to reply to the show cause notices; otherwise stern disciplinary action will be initiated against them, the notice issued by Director Human Resource Department-II said.
The staffers include Sattar Ali, baildar, Nadeem Mustafa, OGM; Malik Dino Ujan, forest guard; Muhammad Arif, stitcher; Jehangir, security guard; Hazrat Munir, security guard; Liaqat Hussain, baildar; Munawar Hussain, supervisor; Bashir Abbasi, enquiry clerk; Muhammad Liaqat, HTV driver; Naveed Hussain, forensic expert; Asim Bashir, computer operator; Zulfiqar Ali, in-charge fire audit and prevention; and Khalid Hussain Abbasi, deputy chief.
