Rs7.5b Modaraba scam accused held

Islamabad - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi arrested Hafiz Mukhtar Khan, director of Mufti Ehsanul Haq Fiazi Group of Industries, accused in Rs 7.5 billion Modaraba case on charges of corruption and cheating public at large in the ploy of Islamic mode of investment. The regional NAB bureau is currently investigating 96 cases of multi-billion rupees Modaraba scam, in which eight cases are in reference stage, 14 are at investigation stage, five are at inquiry stage, two are at complaint verification stage and 67 are on complaint stage and has so far received 33744 complaints from scam affectees. The NAB has recovered Rs 1.734 billion in this mega scam. The NAB has so far arrested 30 accused in Modaraba scam including Ghulam Rasool Ayubi, M Khalid, Hussain Ahmed, Mufti Shabbir Usmani, Sajjad Ahmed, M Irfan, Hamid Nawaz, Mufti Ehsanul Haq, Obaidullah, Ibrarul Haq, Hafiz MNawaz, M Moeen Aslam, Umair Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, Ibrahim Alshoriam, M Usama, Aqeel Abbasi, Saifullah, Asif Javed, Bilal Khan Bangash, Khan Muhammad, Mateehur Rehman, Ijaz Anwar, Muhammad Saqib, Muhammad Ehsan, MNauman Qureshi, Syed Aksheed Hussain, Adil Butt, Mufti Hanif Khan, and Hafiz Mukhtar.
