ISLAMABAD - At Constitution Avenue, Friday was the day of criticism for the judiciary as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan lashed out at the judiciary for, what he said, its failure to give justice to his party and law was being used to give cover to rigging in elections.
Apparently perturbed over the arrests of hundred of his party workers throughout the country and especially in Islamabad ahead of his announced One-Day Nation show for today, asked his party’s Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi to stop negotiating with the government. Khan also requested the Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the arrests.
“I ask the chief justice to help stop state terrorism, this is the time to give justice to people, this is the time to stand for the innocent people,” he said adding that if judiciary did not do this, the people would themselves start fighting for their rights.
Khan said, “If you are stopping a peaceful protest, you are opening the way for a bloody revolution” he stressed. “I am hurt from the judiciary of Pakistan,” the PTI chief said and questioned was it not the responsibility of the judiciary of this country to provide justice. “We are roaming for the last sixteen months but we did not get justice,” he said.  He promised the people that in new Pakistan, all election cases would be decided within a month. He alleged former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry for managing rigging in the election and said, “Iftikhar Chaudhry had a role of “Mir Jaffer” in Pakistan’s democracy.”
He asked the judiciary to protect the rights of the people of Pakistan, as it was their responsibility.
Khan denied that he did no need to get directive from the military and accused Nawaz Sharif of having brought up in the nursery of General Jilani and General Zia ul Haq.
“I don’t need army’s help as my army is standing in front of me,” he asked the crowd.
He said, why the government was not removing 800 containers placed in the capital despite the orders of Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Imran said that he was being terrorised from suicide bombers for the last one month but he would not be scared. “Let come 100 suiciders, I am ready,” he said and alleged that the dictatorship of Musharraf was better than the democracy of Nawaz.
PTI again appealed to the students to come out for his today’s protest, as this was necessary for their future. He said this movement was for a change and Saturday’s protest would be a major show.
He asked his supporters to ensure their presence here and don’t come at the venue alone as police would arrest them. He asked his supporters to remove containers in their way here on Saturday.
