2 Pindi colleges non-functional for seven years

Rawalpindi - Two government degree colleges in Dhoke Syedan area could not be made functional despite a lapse of seven years, causing consternation among the residents. Residents complained that the colleges one each for girls and boys were constructed during the tenure of the PML-Q-led government but they have not been made functional.
“Our children stand deprived of basic facility of education due to the sheer negligence of an elected representatives with a mere slogan of “para likha Punjab” but practically their claims have gone down the drain and they have disappointed,” said a group of residents.
“What a pity it is that the college buildings have been built but they have turned into haunted places. We have to send our daughters to colleges in far-off areas for higher studies. The whole day we spend praying for their safe return from colleges,” they said.
The residents have appealed to Punjab chief minister to intervene and issue orders to make the two colleges functional immediately.
