Rawalpindi - The girls have once again outshined boys in the annual examination of HSSC part-II by achieving overall first and third positions.
However, a boy student managed to achieve overall 2nd position in the HSSC part-II examination. The result was announced in a ceremony chaired by Provincial Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarward and attended by PML-N leaders, besides other officials concerned, students and their parents.
According to the results, daughter of Muhammad Sulaman Raza, a pre-medical student of Punjab College for Women, Rawalpindi, bagged the overall first position by securing 1025 marks.
She was followed by a pre-engineering student Shahid Nadeem of Oxford Public Boys Higher Secondary School, Pindi Gheb, Attock, who got 1,014 marks.
The third position was grabbed by a pre-engineering student Aqsa Malik of Punjab College for Women, Rawalpindi. She attained 1012 marks. Another girl student of the same institution, Sana Akhtar also shared the third position by obtaining same equal.
In general science group (girls), Natasha Javed of Punjab College for Women, Rawalpindi, stood first by securing 994 marks. Arisha Ejaz of the same institution got 990 marks to remain second in general science group.  Another student of the same institution Lyba Ejaz remained 3rd by getting 975 marks.
In general science group (boys), Osama Rehman bagged the first slot by achieving 948 marks. Muhammad Mudassir got second position after getting 923 marks. Zohaib Yousaf got 922 marks and grabbed the third position in the group.
In the pre-engineering group, Aqsa Malik who secured overall third position in the examination, bagged first position. While Ammarah Waheed of Punjab College for Women, Rawalpindi, achieved 1010 marks and remained second in the group. Khadija Mehboob Dar of the same institution remained third and she got 1003 marks.
Shahid Nadeem who bagged the overall second position in the board examination got the first position in pre-engineering group. Basit Ali got 998 marks and remained second. Muhammad Yasaal Minhas secured 995 marks and got the third slot.
In pre-medical group (girls), the overall top position holder Shahzeen remained first. Sana Akhtar, who shared overall third position in the board examination, remained second in the group and Sabina Ahmad remained third as she got 1008 marks.
In pre-medical group (boys), Umer Irshad of Punjab College of Information Technology, Rawalpindi, bagged the first position by getting 1010 marks. Touseef Ali also shared the first position by getting equal marks 1010. While another student of the same institution, Muti Ullah son of Inayat Ullah grabbed the second position by securing 999 marks, followed by Abdullah Azzam who bagged the third position.
After the announcement of results, chief guest Raja Ashfaq Sarwar congratulated the top position holders and other students. He said the Punjab government is committed to providing education to each and everyone. For this purpose, educational institutions are being opened in all parts of the province.
