ISLAMABAD - Food poisoning, fatigue and fear on Wednesday landed over a hundred police officials deputed in the city hospitals, ahead of long marches.
According to health officials, about 173 cops rushed to nearby Federal Government Services Hospital, Polyclinic and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) with complaints of diarrhea and fatigue. 'Nearly 170 police personnel were brought to polyclinic complaining vomiting, stomach cramps, backache and headache. They were discharged after giving treatment while 12, suffering from severe dehydration, were admitted in the hospital,” informed a senior doctor from Polyclinic. “Usually, consumption of contaminated food and water, uncomfortable beds or sleeping area, long working hours and sudden change of environment cause such conditions,” he added. “But Islamabad Capital Territory administration can better ‘diagnose’ their illness as thousands of protestors are reaching the Capital,” the doctor said sarcastically.
