ISLAMABAD - Public Accounts Committee (PAC) under the Chairmanship of
Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah reviewed the progress on audit reports and Draft Paras/Paras related to various ministries on Wednesday.
A press release issued by the Ministry of Defence said that the chairman lauded the efforts put in by the Ministry of Defence through DACs’ for settling a substantial number of audit objections.
The committee also appreciated the recovered amount of more than Rs1.5 billion during the last 16 months since formation of current PAC. Secretary Ministry of Defence Lt. General (Retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak briefed the PAC that 75 DACs have been conducted in past 16 months at regular intervals and comprehensive efforts are being made to resolve all pending cases. While commending the efforts of DAC of the Ministry of Defense, he noted that Departments Accounts Committee under the directions of Secretary Defence has made praiseworthy efforts to resolve all outstanding cases.
