Federal Minister for Privatisation, Syed Naveed Qamar has said that the proposed privatisation of the Qadirpur gas field has been put off. In a statement issued here on Friday, the minister said the government has decided to put off the privatisation plan of the gas field after the policy statement of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. He called for an end to the ongoing protest against the plan sale of the gas field. Qamar said that the Parliament and all other stakeholders would be taken into confidence on privatisation before taking any final decision in this regard. The Privatisation Minister said that the government would finalise the sale plan only after developing a consensus.
