Bilawal plans big public meeting in UK

ISLAMABAD - PPP’s Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Zardari in an image improving campaign is set to address a public gathering at Birmingham, UK, tomorrow, which is also aimed to dispel the impression of anti-PPP sentiments in PPP’s UK chapter.
“PPP’s bigwigs after watching scene of sloganeering against Bilawal at London last month have decided to organize another big public meeting in Birmingham on November 15,” PPP’s senior member shared this with The Nation on Thursday.
Bilawal last month was reportedly forced to cut short his speech at the ‘Million March’ in London, when some protestors had raised slogans against him and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
PPP’s Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, who is currently in Dubai, would also reach UK today to participate in the public gathering.
When contacted, Farhatullah Babar, the spokesperson for Zardari, confirmed the programme for the rally in UK. “PPP’s Co-chairman is currently in Dubai as he might also leave for UK to attend rally,” he said adding that PPP’s other senior leaders would also participate in gathering.
According to a statement from Bilawal House in Karachi after the incident, “Some unidentified people tried to disrupt the party chief’s speech at the Kashmir rally but he faced the unruly mob with bravery and completed his address to the participants”.
Bilawal, the sources said, after holding the public gathering at Birmingham will start focusing on Punjab where he is set to make reshuffle in the party chapter.
