I am not going to become deputy prime minister: Rehman Malik

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has clarified that he was not in line to be the deputy prime minister because he was a party worker and wanted to remain as worker. He said this while talking to media men after attending special prayers in Shah Faisal Mosque here in Islamabad on Wednesday. Whatever assignments are entrusted to me by the party I complete them in a befitting manner, he remarked. Malik told the press that he would be happy even if party leadership did not want him to be an interior minister. He said that extortionists, land mafia and target killers will not be spared at all in Karachi. To a question he said one month warning had been issued for leave the land illegally occupied by the land mafia. Action will be taken against the persons found responsible after one month, he said. PPP would continue reconciliation policy and nobody will nobody will be allowed to sabotage this policy in any circumstances, he declared. Dengue virus has spread to the remotest areas, he said adding we will have to stop the spread of dengue virus. We have made request to World Health Organization to help us. We will not leave people of Punjab alone in this hard time and all the possible assistance will be provided to government of Punjab, he maintained. Two machines had been provided to Sheikh Zaid Hospital Lahore, he pointed out. If no measures are taken immediately for prevention of Dengue Virus then it may spread all over the country, he warned. Rehman Malik told that provision of all information to the superior judiciary would be ensured.
