ISLAMABAD - PTI Chairman Imran Khan Tuesday strongly condemned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's address to a rally in Gilgit-Baltistan, saying it was tantamount to pre-poll rigging ahead of general elections in the area.
"Not satisfied with planting his federal minister Birjees Tahir as Governor Gilgit-Baltistan, a biased the PML-N caretaker government and Election Commissioner, the PM has now announced a so-called development package for GB just before elections clearly as a gimmick to buy votes and influence the elections," Imran Khan said in a statement. He said this was absolutely unacceptable and brazen pre-polls rigging.
"It is time that the PML-N learns the essentials of democracy which begin with fair and free elections with a truly neutral caretaker government in place and no attempts to influence polls through pre poll rigging. So far Nawaz Sharif has not been able to rise above cronyism and use of money to buy influence," Imran Khan added.

APP adds: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Tuesday said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan always started crying about rigging whenever he apprehended his defeat in election.
The minister, in a statement, said it was the PTI chief's jealousy which had drowned him.
It was strange that Imran Khan felt pain whenever he came across signs of development in the country, he added.
