NBF to hold national book day festival

Islamabad - The National Book Foundation (NBF) would hold a five-day 6th National Book Day festival from April 22 at Pak-China Friendship Center.   The inauguration ceremony of the festival will be held at 11:00am, an official of NBF told APP here on Tuesday adding, this year theme of the book festival is “Book and Peace Go Together”.   Grand book fair will be main feature of the moot, besides evening shows in which `Live with Legends’ has especially being organized, the official said.
The official said, renowned literary figures Intizar Hussain,  Anwar Maqsood, Zia Mohyeddin and Ustad Nafees Ahmed would be guest speakers in this segment.
Besides that Sufi night, Uncle Sarfam Show, a Kul Pakistan Mushaira participated by poets from all over the country, Dastan Goee, Overseas
Pakistani writers conference, Iqbal Day special celebrations, book  Ambassador conference and fun for children including magic show, face painting, speech competition, tableaus and writing competition would be part of the festival. Renowned scholars, famous personalities, well-known writers and
NBF book ambassadors will attend the event. Publishers, booksellers, educational institutions, universities from all over the country will also establish bookstalls and display their publications and publicity material.
