Armed attack on Adyala Jail clerk

Rawalpindi - The court of an additional sessions judge (ASJ) will hear today (Monday) the application filed by senior clerk of Adyala Jail, who sustained bullet injury in an armed attack, under section 22-A pleading the court to direct police to register case against the accused.
Nazim Shah, a senior clerk of Adyala Jail whose leg was fractured because of bullet injury in an armed attack, filed the application under section 22-A through his lawyer Irfan Khan Niazi making station house officer (SHO) Police Station Saddar Bairooni and investigation officer (IO) of the case as respondents, sources told The Nation on Sunday.
Earlier Nazim Shah alleged IG Prisons Punjab Mian Farooq Nazir and Superintendent Adyala Jail Malik Mushtaq Ahmed Awan for sending their men to end his life as he (Nazim) highlighted the corruption of his bosses.
According to sources, the applicant stated in the petition that he was attacked by unknown armed men on December 5 at Adyala Road. In the attack, he sustained a bullet injury in his leg because of which his bone got fractured, he added. He said that the attackers were allegedly sent by the IG and superintendent Adyala Jail, as he had exposed their corruption. He pleaded the court to order police to file FIR on his application against the IG and superintendent. The court accepted the petition for hearing and summoned the SHO and IO today (Monday), sources added.
Meanwhile, a court of area magistrate directed the medical superintendent of District Headquarters Hospital to form a medical board to re-examine the bullet injury of Nazim Shah, a senior clerk of Adyala Jail.
The SHO PS Saddar Bairooni and IO of the case approached court seeking formation of board to re-examine the bullet injury. Police in the plea expressed doubt over the claim of Nazim Shah, circumstances and contents of the application.
While accepting the police application, area magistrate/civil judge ordered MS DHQ Hospital to form a medical board, re-examine the injury of the applicant and submit report with the court.
