Polio count rises to 62 with fresh case

ISLAMABAD - The Prime Minister’s Polio Cell confirmed one new wild type-1 polio case of 2014 on Wednesday.
Mir Fayaz, son of Hussain, is a 27-month-old male child, resident of area Milward, village Aka Khel, Sultan Khel Sama Ghari, Tehsil Bara, Khyber Agency. He contracted the disease because he had received no polio vaccine due to security issues in his area. With this new addition, the total polio cases count has risen to 62 with 48 cases in Federally Administered Tribal Areas - 41 cases in NWA, 04 cases in SWA, 02 cases in Khyber Agency and one case in FR Bannu - 09 cases in Khyber Paktunkhawa (Peshawar 04, Bannu 05), and five cases from Karachi.
