President calls for promoting national harmony

Islamabad - President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday emphasized the need for promoting harmony at national level to expedite efforts for overcoming the challenges being faced by the country.
Speaking at the National Harmony workshop arranged by National Defence University Islamabad, he said nations move towards the path of progress by promoting harmony.
He said unfortunately Pakistan is facing grave challenges of terrorism and sectarianism which have damaged the efforts to create harmony. Mamnoon Hussain said the elements promoting terrorism and sectarianism are trying to exploit the situation and create anarchy in the society. He said it is responsibility of the educational institutions especially the universities to work for promotion of harmony.
The President said there is also need to promote research which is vital for improving standard of education. He said that we must work hard to transform the challenges into opportunities.
Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain has called for early resolution of issue of Kuwaiti ban on visas for Pakistani nationals. He was talking to Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait Marzouq Ali M. Al-Ghanim in Islamabad.
The President noted that Pakistani community is making positive contribution to the socio-economic development of Kuwait. He said Pakistan will be happy to meet future manpower requirements of Kuwait. The President said Pakistan and Kuwait have always stood by each other in testing times. He said Pakistan wishes to further enhance and balance bilateral trade volume with Kuwait.
He expressed the hope that early conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement with Gulf Cooperation Council would also be helpful in expanding bilateral trade.
