Mush’s medical report: Court seeks doctor’s name

ISLAMABAD - The sessions court Saturday directed Pervez Musharraf’s counsel to inform about the name of doctor on the next hearing who had advised ex-army chief to have complete bed rest.
Additional Sessions Judge, Islamabad Abdul Qadir Memon heard the case but the lawyer of Pervez Musharraf did not appear. Therefore the court adjourned the case till November 28.
In the last hearing, Musharraf’s counsel had submitted medical report seeking exemption from appearance in the murder case of former Lal Masjid cleric.
The court however found that neither name of any doctor nor hospital was mentioned in that report that had recommended complete rest to the former military ruler. The court therefore had directed the lawyer to inform about the doctors who had given such advice.
According to Musharraf’s lawyer, he (Musharraf) is unable to walk due to severe backache. He said the medical board had advised him complete rest therefore his application for permanent absence in this case be accepted.
In 2013, the Islamabad police registered a case against Musharraf over the alleged murder of Rasheed Ghazi and his mother during the Lal Masjid military operation.
The case was filed after Haroon Rasheed, Ghazi’s son, submitted an application at the Aabpara Police Station. In the application, Haroon Rasheed had referred to about 20 pages of the Lal Masjid Commission report, which held the former president responsible for the operation.
