RAWALPINDI - The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rawalpindi, has announced the results of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) annual examination, 2009 during a ceremony held here at Divisional Public School, Shamsabad, on Saturday. Overall two of the three top positions were clinched by the girls. Student of Government College for Women, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, Hina Khan (Roll No 713887) of Pre-Medical group grabbed first position by securing 1,003 marks out of 1,100 marks. She was closely followed by the second position-holder Sahar Bano (Roll No 710304) of Pre-Medical group of Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, by clutching 999 marks, while Ahmad Abdullah (Roll No 702530) Pre-Engineering group of Cadet College Hassan Abdal grabbed third position by scoring 997 marks. According to the results, the ratio of successful candidates remained 50.39 percent. Out of total 47,668 (24116 regular candidates and 23,552 private) candidates appeared in the 2009 HSSC annual examination, 22,933 were declared fail, 863 remained absent and 140 were out of examination due to using unfair means. The results for HSSC annual examination Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, General Science, Commerce and Humanities groups was declared by the board on Saturday morning, Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs and Auqaf Ehsanuddin Qurashi was the chief guest. Chairman of BISE Abdul Hafeez, Secretary Humayun Iqbal, Controller of Examinations Professor Azam, heads of educational institutions and large numbers of parents and students were also present in the medal-awarding ceremony to the top position holders. In Pre-Medical Group Boys, Aziz Ahmad Chattha (Roll No 702433) of Cadet College, Hassanabdal, stood first by scoring 996 marks, Saqlain Saleem (Roll No702436) of Cadet College, Hassanabdal, secured second position by scoring 995 marks and the third position was got by Muhammad Asad Faruqi (Roll No 719147) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, by scoring 994 marks. In Pre-Medical Group Girls, Hina Khan (Roll No 713887) of Government College for Women, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, bagged first position scoring 1003 marks out of 1100 marks while Shahr Bano (Roll No 710304) of Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls, Satellite Town, got second position by securing 999 marks and Tehrim Amjad (Roll No710302) of Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls, Satellite Town and Ambreen Tariq (Roll No 705060) collectively grabbed third position by scoring 995 marks each. In Pre-Engineering Group boys, Ahmad Abdullah Mahmood (Roll No 702530) of Cadet College, Hassanabdal secured first position by scoring 997 marks, Moin Ahmed (Roll No. 719155) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, got second position by scoring 980 marks and the third position was shared by Farhan Ahmed (Roll No 702496) of Cadet College Hassanabdal by scoring 979 marks. In Pre-Engineering Group Girls, Aatiqa Anwar (Roll No 710311) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, bagged first position by scoring 984 marks, Maeira Imtiaz (Roll No 710312) of same institution stood at second position by scoring 970 marks and Iqra Shakeel (Roll No 710348) of same institution got third position by scoring 962 marks. In General Science Group Boys, Wasim Zarin Khan (Roll No 718937) of Indus College of Commerce for boys, Satellite Town, bagged first position by securing 958 marks, Muhammad Hassan Shehzad (Roll No 719297) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, got second position by securing 947 marks and Syed Dawar Zaman (Roll No 719294) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, got third position by securing 945 marks. In General Science Group Girls, Rabia Bashir (Roll No 704102) of Government College for Women, Chakwal, bagged first position by scoring 954 marks, Shaheen Yousaf (Roll No 714034) of Government College for Women, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, stood at second position by scoring 949 marks and Mehvish Naz (Roll No701494) of Community Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Khaur, Attock got third position by scoring 921 marks. In Humanities Group Boys, Sudheer Ahmad (Roll No743946) private candidate from Rawalpindi bagged first position by securing 852 marks, Arshad Mehmood (Roll No747342) of Madrisa Darul ul Mohi ul Islam, Walyatabad, Kallar Syedan and Zaheer Abbas (Roll No 707013) of Mumtaz Foundation Education Complex Higher Secondary School for boys Mangwal, Chakwal shared second position by securing 851 marks each and Muhammad Amir (Roll No 735140) private candidate from Jhelum got third position by securing 847 marks. In Humanities Group Girls, Nimra Khalid (Roll No710464) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, bagged first position by scoring 918 marks, Aamra Izzat (Roll No 733407) private candidate from Dina, Jhelum, stood second by scoring 914 marks and Ramsha Sohail (Roll No710467) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, got third position by scoring 912 marks. In Commerce Group Boys, Umer Farooq (Roll No 709019) of MA Jinnah College of Commerce and Computer Sciences, Jhelum, bagged first position by securing 960 marks, Muhammad Hassan Tahir (Roll No 719325) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, got second position by securing 943 marks and Muhammad Usman (Roll No 719080) of Indus College of Commerce Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, got third position by securing 931 marks.
