Imran insists verification of votes in four constituencies

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan has said that rigging in any election is not acceptable at all and questioned if the government is not guilty in the issue then why it is frightened of recounting.
"Why the PML-N created hurdles to verify the votes in only four constituencies if they never rigged the elections", he questioned.
Talking to media persons here in Islamabad on Monday, Imran Khan said that being the main stakeholder in the issue, his party approached Election of Pakistan (ECP) to complain about rigging but in vain due to which it had to move Supreme Court for justice.
He said that the SC was the only institution which has enough credibility to be trusted.
The PTI chairman said that his party placed its reservations before the SC and now it was upon the court what it decides but we hope better.
If the apex court allowed the thumb impression verification and recount of votes in four constituencies then it will be a historical decision, he added.
Khan also demanded the chief justice to take notice of large scale irregularities happening in the country to protect the future of country because no one dares to control the government except the judiciary.
He said Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PML-N) led government had admitted that almost 60 to 70 percent votes in 272 constituencies could not be verified.
Imran Khan said that the PTI in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KPK) was going to hold local body elections through the biometric system to ensure transparency.
He appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan to introduce the same biometric system across the country so that not only billion of rupees could be saved from magnetic ink but also making the election acceptable for all parties participating in the elections.
The PTI chairman said that those who raised the voice against KPK elections results were invited to come and verify all the constituencies.
He held the federal government responsible for the inflation, lawlessness and other crises which have gripped the country adding to the miseries of the poor masses.
