Family ‘kept in confinement’ seeks justice

Islamabad - A woman on Monday alleged that she along with her family members was kept in illegal confinement by their masters in a house in sector F-10 of the federal capital.
Addressing a press conference here at National Press Club, Sania Bibi alleged that Muzaffar Abbas, his wife Rubina Bibi, their daughter-in-law Tooba and two sons allegedly kept them in illegal confinement at house number 48, street number 38, F-10/4, for days before the local police got them free. She said that her family experienced the worst working environment at the master’s house where they were forced to work with almost no wages. “We were six people… me, my husband and another family consisting of four persons.
We were repeatedly tortured and locked inside the house,” Sania said. When asked why the alleged victims were repeating the allegations again when they (alleged victims) had already contracted an agreement with the accused party and withdrawn an FIR, Sania clarified that police had forced them to sign the papers to withdraw the allegations.
She said that her family would stage a protest demonstration in front of the office of MOL, a foreign oil exploring company, here on Tuesday (today) as the accused was an employee of the company. She demanded of the concerned authorities to take notice of the incident and bring the culprits to task.
