The Excise and Taxation (R&T;) Department has served notices to tax defaulters and a major crackdown against them to be started against them from June. According to sources of E&T;Department, there are nearly 26,000 property and 450 commercial property tax defaulters in the district and notices have been served to all of them and arrests are also expected. ETO Property E&T;Department, Niaz Bhatti in a statement said that the department has sealed 4,000 properties for the recovery from defaulters and after that defaulters paid their dues. He informed that three teams have been formed for the recovery from defaulters, adding the pace of the recoveries from defaulters would be speeded up and the record tax to be recovered in the remaining one and half month of current fiscal year.
