ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has decided to invite heads of all the major political parties in a seminar to be held in Islamabad on May 26 on the Balochistan issue.
According to SCBA president Yaseen Azad, they have contacted all political parties’ heads to participate in an important seminar on Balochistan issue because their participation would make the seminar meaningful. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Munawar Hassan assured him of participating in the SCBA seminar.
Yaseen said that SCBA would also invite Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, adding on Wednesday he sent a request to President Asif Ali Zardari for holding meeting with him in this regard. “We hope Bilawal Bhutto Zardari being chairman of PPP will participate in our seminar,” he further said.
The SCBA president said he would also meet Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) chief Main Nawaz Sharif for inviting him to attend the seminar. “Though Pakistan Bar Council’s delegation, headed by former SCBA president Asma Jahangir has already met with Nawaz Sharif and he assured the lawyers to come in the seminar,” he added.
He said that Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid) Secretary General Mushahid Hussain would also give his input in the seminar. Azad said that an especial committee was constituted comprising by senior lawyers of Balochistan to contact the local leaders of the province. “Same committee members will meet Baloch leader Ataulah Mangle today (Tuesday) for inviting him as well”, he further informed.
“We are happy that response of local leadership is very good regarding seminar”, he added.
