Islamabad - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Tuesday called upon leadership of PTI, PAT and other political parties to get united and extend their full support to the army that was engaged in Waziristan against terrorists.
This was stated in a PPP’s high-level meeting held at the Party Central Secretariat’ Islamabad. PAT and PTI leadership should postpone their protests on December 17 and 18 respectively as a token of respect to the victims and also express their determination unequivocally to fight out terrorism completely that had endangered the existence of the country, said the PPP’s senior member.
In the meeting, it was mentioned that the top leadership of the PPP had been consistently advocating of taking the terrorists head on as the top national priority of the country and the party politics could be taken up at later stage. It was the time to save the country first, they pointed out.
The meeting was attended by Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Secretary General PPP, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Political Advisor to the Co- Chairman,Raja Imran Ashraf, divisional organizer, Rawalpindi, Qazi Sultan Mahmood, member CEC,Raja Riaz,Tasneem Qureshi,Dr. Fardous Ashiq Awan,Raja Amir, Suhail Milk, district Presidents, President of PSF and PYO.
The participants expressed their deep condolences to the bereaved families whose children embraced martyrdom in Peshawar terrorist attack, and fortitude to the victim families to bear the irreparable loss.
The participants maintained that such cowardly acts would not weaken the resolve of the nation rather it would strengthen the same to defeat the menace of terrorism thoroughly and comprehensively from the country.
They described it as a national tragedy, adding that the nation had no choice but to defeat terrorism and extremism as the perpetrators were determined to impose their toxic, redundant and obscurantist ideology on Pakistan at the gun point.
The participants also decided to offer Ghaibana namz-i- Jinaza and to light candles as a token of respect to those who lost their lives in today’s terrorist attack in Peshawar.
