NH&MP addressed 206,146 cases of distress in 09

RAWALPINDI - National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) rendered help to 206,146 distress road users while 145,5079 drivers had been imparted road safety education in year 2009 to reduce the accidents. Talking to TheNation here on Saturday, the spokesman of NH&MP said that the officers NH&MP N-5 North Zone had shown excellent performance in year 2009 to reduce accidents and to assist road users in distress. He told that during this year, the NH&MP officers of North Zone rendered 206,146 helps to distress road users whereas 1455079 road users had been imparted road safety education. He informed that the officers recovered 27 stolen and snatched vehicles and arrested 77 culprits involved in different crimes while they foiled 8 robbery attempts whereas 63 lost children have been reunited with their parents. During the year, accidents ratio has been reduced to 29 per cent as compared to 2008. NH&MP officers have celebrated jovial occasions with the road users by distributing gifts amongst them and actively participated in national campaign against Polio, he added. DIG NH&MP N-5 North, Shahid Yar Khan has applauded the commendable performance of the officers of North Zone and expected that the officers would show the same motivation of services in year 2010.
