FIA files plea for daily hearing in BB murder case

RAWALPINDI - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday filed a petition in Rawalpindi Bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking judicial order for the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) to hear the Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto murder case on daily basis.
The FIA has pleaded that the counsels for all accused are using delaying tactics to linger on the case, which is evident from the fact that not even a single case of 2007 is pending in the ATC-I except this high-profile case. Talking to APP, Senior Public Prosecutor of FIA Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali said a trial court, under the Anti-Terrorism Act, is bound to hold daily hearing of the cases for their quick disposal.
He also mentioned the murder case of Punjab governor Salman Taseer, which was decided in just ten months. A divisional bench of the Lahore High Court will hear the petition of FIA on Thursday.
