Wasa recovers Rs175m from defaulters








RAWALPINDI  - Under the direction of Punjab government, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has recovered Rs 175 million from consumers in terms of water dues.
According to sources, the WASA has issued notices to several defaulters, including TMA, government and non government departments in this regard while the authority would achieve its annual target by recovering Rs ten million more from defaulter in coming weeks.
Managing Director WASA, Raja Shaukat Mehmood said that the WASA is facing shortfall of one million gallon per day while clean drinking water is supplied to citizens from Rawal Dam, Khan Purr Dam and tube wells.
Meanwhile, the Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) has started drive against defaulters and recovered Rs 40 million during four month.
According to detail (RTMA) kicked off campaign against defaulters and recovered 40 million while Rs 5.9 million are still pending. On the direction of administrator Rawal Town Saif Anwar Jappa Taxation Superidentant Shehzad Gohar comprising with Chaudhary Amjad Teema launched crack down on Istanbul road and closed 15 shops for defaulting. They told that they would also crack down against 200 defaulters at Bani Chowk in TMA market.
