Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, allowing two weeks time to the police, law enforcing agencies and other concerned organizations, said that they should get themselves meanwhile mentally prepared for the implementation of the national judicial policy. Presiding over a meeting of the national judicial policy making committee in Supreme Court, CJP said that the process of deliberations and consultations on the implementation of the judicial policy would be completed today, but it would come into effect from June 1. He said that Tanvir Ahmad Khan was appointed Law Secretary in violation of the judicial policy, but the notification was immediately withdrawn on bringing this anomaly to the notice of the prime minister. The government if wishes could hire the services of any retired judge, but not the one in service. CJP said that the appointment of the chairman, services tribunal and the quick disposal of service matters and cases would also be mulled over in the meeting.
