ISLAMABAD - Refusing to accept the resignation of Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi as Federal Minister for Industries, Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif directed him to focus on the working of his ministry with the assurance of addressing all his concerns.
Federal Minister for Industries along with Senior Vice-President of PML-N Sindh Chapter Shah Mohammad Shah called on Premier Sharif at Prime Minister’s House on Tuesday and discussed with him matters pertaining to the working of the party in the province and the reasons which forced him to tender his resignation, sources in the party disclosed.
While presenting his case Jatoi complaint about interference of other ministers in his ministry and its subordinate departments, adding that he could not work in such circumstances, sources close to Jatoi informed.
The prime minister gave him a patient hearing and refused to accept his resignation and directed him to focus on the working of his ministry. He also assured him that all his genuine concerns would be addressed.
The party affairs in the Sindh, particularly in the rural belt came under discussion, came under sharp focus. The prime minister directed the party leaders from the province to focus on the upcoming local bodies elections and evolve some solid strategy for getting maximum gains in the upcoming local bodies elections in the province.
Meanwhile according to the press release issued by the Prime Minister’s media section Premier Sharif during separate meetings with Federal Minister for Industries Ghulam Murtaz Jatoi and Engineer Amir Muqam, his advisor has said the government of PML-N is focusing on its vision of development and prosperity, with provision of better facilities to the people across the country. The prime minister said a network of roads is being constructed to facilitate linkages between various parts of the country, which would bring the people closer to each other, besides promoting businesses and creating better employment opportunities.
Deploring the tragic incident that took place in Lahore on Sunday and was followed by protests and riots, he said that all provincial governments have been given directions to take all steps necessary for maintaining law and order.
He said minorities are an important segment of Pakistan’s multi-ethnic society that has immensely contributed towards the country’s progress. He said the government wants the minorities to lead their lives in harmony and peace.
The prime minister said energy problem is being tackled with an effective strategy so that more power is added to the national grid as early as possible to provide the people with maximum relief. Both the leaders apprised the PM of matters relating to their areas. The party matters relating to Sindh and KPK also came under discussion during the meetings.
Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi also briefed the Prime Minister about the working of his Ministry and the steps being taken to promote the industrial sector in the country. Syed Shah Muhammad Shah, Senior Vice President PML-N Sindh was also present during this meeting. During the meeting with Engr. Amir Muqam the Prime Minister gave in-principle approval of connecting Battal, Ugi and Shangla with motorway.
