PM lauds Sindh govt efforts for fair, free polls




ISLAMABAD

Chief Minister Sindh, Justice (Retd) Zahid Qurban Alvi, called on Prime Minister Justice (Retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso at the Prime Minister's House on Friday and briefed him about the arrangements made by the provincial government to maintain law and order during the election process.
Appreciating the efforts made by the provincial government for the holding of free, fair and peaceful elections in the province, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan had achieved a huge democratic milestone through the holding of these elections. Khoso observed that the massive turnout in the elections was a testimony that the caretaker government was successful in instilling confidence among the people of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said that these elections have also demonstrated that overwhelming majority of Pakistanis believe in participatory form of government. He also appreciated the role of the law enforcement agencies and all those associated with them for their efforts for the holding of general elections in the country.
