Islamabad beautification from 22nd



ISLAMABAD

A sector-wise renovation, upgradation, beautification campaign of Capital Development Authority (CDA) in coordination with civil society, sector citizens committees, traders associations, NGOs and school children would commence from I-10 on coming Monday, April 22.
The purpose of launching of this public participatory campaign is to address the common complaints and issues of the general public at their doorstep. This drive would also help improve overall state of capital city by creating awareness amongst the citizens with a message to own and transform their city. Chairman CDA Syed Tahir Shahbaz would inaugurate the campaign on April 22 at 10:00 a.m. near Social Security Dispensary, I-10 Markaz.
The Member CDA (Planning & Design), Syed Mustafain Kazmi, has been nominated as chief coordinator of the campaign. This will be launched in collaboration with ICT administration, police authorities, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ICCI), traders associations, leading journalists of print & electronic media, civil society organisations, sector citizens committees etc.
Member Administration, Chaudhry Munir Ahmad, will be the focal person of the campaign. During the campaign banners, pamphlets, placards, badges, T-shirts, P-Caps will be displayed  provided to the participants. The participants along with school children will gather at designated points in each sector from where the campaign will start. The beatification initiative would also be blended with publicity on large scale especially on LCD's, cable network.
The focal persons from each formation of the authority have been nominated to ensure better coordination during the campaign. The sector citizens committees in each sector are being involved in the campaign.
The campaign would focus on maintenance of potholes, roads lane marking, provision of missing manhole covers, maintenance of footpaths, repair of choked leaking sewerage lines, disposal of stagnant water on roads, removal of rank vegetation, cleanliness and upkeep of parks, maintenance of green belts, upkeep of kids play areas, play grounds and other sports facilities.
