33,000 flour bags sent to Ramazan Bazaars

RAWALPINDI - To provide flour to the consumers on subsidised rate of Rs 200 during Ramazan, trucks containing 33,000 flour bags of 20 kg have been sent to Ramazan Bazaars and sale points established in various localities of the city. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, a number of trucks loaded with 22,500 flour bags were sent to nine Ramzan Bazaars while 10,500 bags were also sent to 21 truck points so that citizens could get atta on low price during Ramazan, informed District Food Controller (DFC) Baber Khan here on Wednesday. While giving further details, DFC Babar Khan informed that under the instructions of Commissioner Zahid Saeed, nine Ramazan Bazaars have been set up in different areas of the city and Cantt as well. These areas included Dhoke Kala Khan, Public Park, Shamasabad, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Haideri Chowk, Committee Chowk, Chur Chowk, Chungi No 22, Rehmatabad and Commercial Market. He added that five trucks containing 500 bags of flour weighing 20 kg each were sent to these Ramazan Bazaar. One truck containing 500 flour bags was also sent on each truck point established by the district administration in the areas of Gawalmandi, Mohan Pura, Dhoke Hassu, Naseeerabad, Bangash Colony, Sadiqabad, Chah Sultan, Dheri Hassanabad, British Homes, Holy Family Hospital (HFH), New Katarian, Misrial Chowk, Zafar Plaza Chakri Road, Dahmial Camp, Bakra Mandi, Chaakra, Jhanda Chichi, Dhoke Gujran, , Zia Masjid Shakrial and Chak Baili Khan, DFC informed. Babar Khan further said that flour trucks would be sent on every alternate day and the number of these truck points would also be enhanced from 21 to 29 to facilitate the citizens at a maximum level. He said that people have appreciated and lauded the steps taken by CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif for providing flour on cheaper rates and establishing Ramazan Bazaars to ensure the provision of all vegetables and food items on adequate rates. Citizens will get a considerable relief from the steps taken by Shahbaz Sharif, DFC Baber Khan added.
