57pc students flunk BA/BSc exams

Islamabad - Around 57 per cent students flunked the BA/BSc annual examination 2015 conducted by the Quaid-i-Azam University.
The university announced results of BA/BSc, both the first and second parts, yesterday. According to the university, 3,020 students of affiliated Islamabad colleges appeared in the Part-I exams and 1,392 of them remained successful. The overall pass percentage remained 46.09.  Whereas 3,412 students appeared in the part-II exams and 1,390 of them were successful with pass percentage of 40.74.
The first three positions of BA/BSc (part-II) exams were grabbed by girls. Sana Mushtaq of Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-6/2, secured the top position with 592 marks out of 800, while Sana Ramzan of Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-7/4, and Shabana of Islamabad Model Postgraduate College for Girls, F-7/2, secured the second and third positions with 584 and 578 marks respectively.
In BSc part-II exams, Sumbul Saeed of Islamabad College for Girls, F-6/2, bagged the first position with 668 marks, while Shamsa Jabeen of Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-6/2, and Hafsa Abid of Islamabad Model Postgraduate College for Girls, F-7/2, secured the second and third positions with 646 and 639 marks respectively.
Dr Javed Ashraf, Vice-Chancellor of Quaid-I-Azam University, Dr Ikram A Malik, chairman FBISE, and Sardar Baber, controller examinations QAU, announced the results. Deans of QAU and principals of Islamabad colleges were also present on the occasion.
This is the second batch of Bachelor of Arts and Science, part-II, which has completed graduation from the university after affiliation of the federal government colleges with the university. In the first examination of 2014, only 42 percent student had barely passed the exams.
