Few religious parties believe in politics of violence: Rasheed

ISLAMABAD - Federal Information Minster Pervez Rasheed Thursday said the government would take action against the culprits who were involved in Lahore incident after receiving the judicial commission report, adding a few religious parties believe in the politics of violence.
Talking to media persons after attending a seminar at PNCA, he said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had constituted a judicial commission to hold probe into killing of followers of Dr Tahirul Qadri by Punjab police, the other day. He said that government would not allow any political party to support the terrorists in the country as Pakistani armed forces had launched an operation against extremists in North Waziristan.
The minister commented that a few parties wanted to impose their agenda at gunpoint in the country but the government would not allow them to take law in their hands. He said it was not the proper way to deny the government orders and launch the protest and set ablaze the properties of poor people and this act comes under terrorism.
Pervez Rasheed said that government condoled with families of deceased who lost their precious lives in the firing incident and justice would be provided to the affected families.
Talking about military operation, he said the operation Zarab-e-Azb had been started in North Waziristan after taking all political parties in confidence and all democratic forces must be united for national cause. The minister said Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch would be the responsible for looking after living, health and education arrangements of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and he would submit a report to the PM in this regard. He said the federal government had established the temporary hospitals for IDPs. The government would provide every facility and cash through smart cards to the IDPs and he requested the nation to support IDPs as well.
Commenting on the drone strikes, he said Pakistan’s policy is clear on the drone attacks. To a question, he said Pakistan armed forces were among the best security forces of the world. He said Pakistan Army is playing an important role in UN peacekeeping missions all over the world.
