59,800 kids immunised during last two days

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Over 59,800 children up to 5 years age were administered anti-polio drops in the rural areas during the last two days in three-day anti polio drive launched on March 18. The district health department ICTA has activated 225 mobiles teams and rural area of Islamabad has been divided into 7 zones for the purpose of drive. Seven Zonal Supervisors and 43 area in charges have been appointed to monitor the performance the mobiles teams strictly. District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Amirzada Khan said that health department is utilizing all available resources for the success of drive and 100 per cent target was achieved during the last two days. Chief Commissioner Islamabad Deputy Commissioner ICT Asad Ullah Faiz have directed the health department, supervisors and mobiles teams to ensure that all the children should get the anti polio drops and target fixed should be achieved successfully. It is to mention that ICT health department has fixed the target to administer anti-polio drops to more than 90,000 children.
