Criminals on rampage in Pindi

RAWALPINDI  - Criminal activities are on the rise within the precincts of Saddar Baironi and Westridge police stations. The gangs of car lifters, robbers and dacoits roam freely in these areas, deprive people from their valuables and manage to flee away easily without being challenged by anyone.
In an incident that took place a day earlier in the jurisdiction of Westridge Police Station, two gunmen looted a man on gun point when he came out of a money exchange shop at Peshawar Road in broad daylight depriving him of Rs770,400 cash and escaped from the scene.
It should be mentioned here that police most of the times fail to apprehend criminals despite check posts in every hook and corner besides frequent patrolling in the areas. The situation indicates inefficiency of police to curb criminal activities as crime rate is on the rise.
Citizens demanded City Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokhar to take strong notice of rampant crime rate in the garrison town.
