S&T pavilion at Islamabad Expo attracts public

Islamabad - Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and its subsidiary organisations including Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) and Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH) in collaboration with Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Islamabad organised a Science & Technology (S&T) Pavilion at Jinnah Convention Centre on the occasion of 5th Islamabad Expo 2015.
This S&T Pavilion was set up under science outreach programme of the foundation. The main objectives of the event were to promote science and technology among public, bridge the gap between science and society, develop public-private partnerships and build a knowledge-based highly productive and competitive economy.  To generate public interest in astronomy and science, a series of planetarium shows by PSF were also held to project the night sky with information on constellations and planets.

 Showcase of stuffed animals, gem stones and edible mushrooms was displayed by PMNH to provide information about biodiversity wealth of Pakistan.
The science & technology documentaries were also screened by PASTIC to develop people’s interest in science and technology. The S&T pavilion attracted a large number of general public including children and students.
