FIA prosecutor to get security cover, ATC told

ISLAMABAD  - Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad Tuesday deferred the hearing of Mumbai attack case till August 31 after interior ministry and police ensured the court to provide security to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Special Prosecutor Azhar Chaudhary.
During the hearing of the case, Joint Secretary Interior Mumtaz Ali and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Security Hassan Shah appeared before the ATC and informed that they had taken the measures to provide security to the FIA prosecutor Azhar Chaudhary. The FIA prosecutor was also present in the court on this occasion.
Earlier, the court had directed interior ministry and inspector general (IG) of Islamabad police to provide security to FIA Prosecutor Azhar Chaudhary who requested the judge in this connection. It is pertinent to mention here that an FIA prosecutor in the case Chaudhary Zulfiqar Ali, who was also prosecuting Benazir Bhutto murder case, was shot dead in Islamabad on May 3.
