ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) along with some other political parties have organised an anti-terrorism rally scheduled to be held today (Sunday) in the federal capital. Rally will start from Zero Point and will culminate at the Aabpara Chowk Islamabad.
The PAT representatives said that Pakistan Tehrik-eInsaaf (PTI), All Pakistan Muslim League(APML), Awami Muslime League (AML) and Muslime League Quaid-e-Azem (PML-Q) will participate in the rally.
Among the religious parties, Sunni Itehad Council and Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen would participate in the PAT’s rally. The rally will be led by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur.
District President of PAT Abrar Raza Advocate while briefing the media said that all arrangements have been completed for holding the anti-terrorism demonstration today (Sunday). He said that people are united and totally rejected terrorism in the country. He also condemned the government for its slackness and ill-preparedness that caused Peshawar attack.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has proposed that the army should be given control of all the institutions dealing with the counter-terrorism activities in Pakistan.
Presenting his counter-terrorism agenda from Houston (America) via a video-link during a press conference in Lahore on Saturday, the PAT chief also suggested establishing of military courts for dealing with terrorism related case.
He was of the view that no courts other than proposed military ones should be allowed to deal with terrorism related cases in the country.
