Rawalpindi - The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in a crackdown in various localities of the city arrested took several suspects into custody, sources informed The Nation on Saturday.
A heavy contingent of police, Pakistan Rangers and officials of many other LEAs took part in the crackdown that was conducted at Fauji Colony, IJP Road and Afghan Basti.
All the suspected detainees were later shifted to police stations for further investigation. The LEAs launched the massive crackdown to ensure the law and order and avoid any untoward incident that might occur in reaction of hanging of terrorists by the government in Faisalabad jail, sources mentioned.
Meanwhile, the robbers, dacoits and auto-theft gangs are on looting spree in the city depriving citizens of gold, car and motorcycle. In Afandi Colony, within the limits of Police Station Sadiqabad, two dacoits snatched gold bangles from a woman at gunpoint and fled.
Talking to The Nation, the victim lady namely Aqeela Yasmin said that she was returning to her house located near Jamia Mosque Ghausia along with her child in car when two unknown dacoits riding on motorcycle intercepted her and pointed pistol at her head.
Later, one of the two dacoits snatched my bangles weighing 3 tolas and sped away, she said.
She said that she would report the incident to police for filing a case against unknown intruders.
Similarly, carjackers lifted a car from the area of PS Cantonment and stole a motorcycle of Amjad Ali from the jurisdiction of PS City. Police taking action on the complaints of the victims registered cases and started investigations.
