ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court on Saturday dismissed petition of former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, challenging the verdict of the special court regarding inclusion of the ex-PM’s name in the list of abettors of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.
The apex court was hearing the high treason case against Pervez Musharraf who had sought Aziz’s name in the list of the former military rulers’ abettors. Shaukat Aziz had filed a petition in the apex court through his counsel Waseem Sajjad. The special court, in its order on November 21, 2014, had directed the government to include the names of three senior former functionaries in the charge-sheet that included ex-PM Shaukat Aziz, former federal minister Zahid Hamid and chief justice (r) Abdul Hameed Dogar.
The SC registrar is of the view that the interim order of the special court could not be challenged in the apex court and that the appeal could only be filed against the final verdict.
