Two POs held from Islamabad airport

Rawalpindi0-The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Tuesday held two proclaimed offenders coming from two different Gulf countries and handed them over to relevant law enforcement agencies.

According to the information shared by FIA officials, the immigration staff at Benazir Bhutto Islamabad International Airport (BBIIAP) arrested Namat Ullah as he reached Islamabad from Riaz Saudi Arabia through SV-724. The arrested man was wanted to police in a case of obtaining fake Pakistani national identity card.

Separately, the FIA’s immigration staff arrested Muhammad Riaz who reached at the airport from Dubai in a flight ED-231. Riaz was declared proclaimed offender as he wanted in a murder case to police in Gujrat.

The FIA officials shifted both men to agency’s anti-human trafficking cell for further legal action before they were handed over to relevant law enforcement agencies.

Meanwhile, the authorities have conducted a search operation in various barracks of Adiala Jail, reliable sources said on Tuesday.

The search operation was carried out under supervision of DIG Prisons, Mirza Shahid Salim Baig, they said. The operation was done on reports that some prisoners are allegedly using internet devices in Adiala Jail, they said.

According to sources, the operation continued for about six hours and complete search was carried out in all barracks and prisoners.

The barracks of Hamid Syed Kazmi, former federal minister for religious affairs, Imtiaz Ahmed alias Taji Khokhar, younger brother of former deputy speaker for National Assembly Nawaz Khokhar, Raja Arshad, the killer of Barrister Fahad Malik, and other high profile prisoners were subjected to search. During the search, the authorities found extra luggage and other items of daily use in many barracks. The items including quilts, blanks, buckets etc were taken away from the barracks.

There were some unconfirmed reports that the jail authorities have also found a 4G internet device from barrack of Omar Khokhar, the son of notorious land grabber Taji Khokhar, who has been languishing in Adiala Jail for killing a woman Sabra Bibi on a land dispute.

However, in a short message to media persons, Superintendent Adiala Jail Saeed Ullah Gondal contracted different media reports that 4G internet device was found in the barrack of Taji Khokhar. He explained that the cell phones and the internet devices could not operate in the jail as jammers had been installed in the jail.
