Islamabad - At least two passengers including one-year-old girl died while 18 others sustained injuries when a Suzuki pickup collided with a speeding passenger coach on Rawalpindi-Kohat Road yesterday.
The locals shifted the dead and injured to THQ Jhand from where doctors referred some patients to hospitals in Rawalpindi because of their serious condition.
The deceased were identified as Amir Najaf, the pickup driver, however the name of the kid could not be ascertained by the hospital management.
According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Aslam Khan of Police Station Jhand, a speeding passenger (LWC-6087) coach en route to Kohat from Rawalpindi collided with Suzuki pickup coming from opposite side. As a result, the driver and a kid died on the spot.
The injured passengers were identified as Muhammad Mujahid, Atlas Bibi, Ahsanul Haq, Khalil, Nawab, Hifza, Liaquat Ali, Moheen, Zahid, Qasim, Muhammad Iqbal, Rehman, Hamad and Nazir. Police registered the occurrence of incident in daily crime register and started investigation.
