Rawalpindi - Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) received a suspected patient of swine flu yesterday, sources informed The Nation. Saleem, a resident of Bhara Kahu, arrived in the hospital with the complaint of flu, sources said. At present, the hospital is treating two swine flu suspects, the sources informed.
“His pathological test conducted at a private laboratory declared him a swine flu patient. However, we have sent his samples to National Institute of Health (NIH) for confirmation,” said a doctor who was treating the patient at BBH. She said that the patient was showing symptoms similar to that of swine flu. He has been kept in a special ward and doctors are providing him treatment. “We will not declare him a swine flu patient until we get the confirmation report from the NIH,” she said, adding that the report would come in three to four days.
Earlier, a 72-year-old man Syed Hassan had died of swine flu in Holy Family Hospital (HFH), bringing the death tally to 6 caused by the deadliest virus.
